In 2025, 11 cultural heritage sites of Ancient Khuttal and the national nomination "Culture of Sumanak Preparation" were officially included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference also adopted a resolution, "The Cyrus Cylinder: Original Declaration of Human Rights and Cultural Diversity." This was announced today at a press conference by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan, Matlubakhon Sattoriyon.
The Minister noted that the recognition of the city of Panjakent as the "World City of Suzani Crafts," as well as the decision to celebrate the 1050th anniversary of the great poetess Robia Balkhi in 2026–2027, testify to the significant place of Tajik culture in world civilization.
According to Matlubakhon Sattoriyon, the inclusion of cultural heritage sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List contributes to the preservation of national traditions, the development of crafts, the strengthening of cultural tourism, and the expansion of international cooperation in the field of culture.
