In 2025, 44 cultural facilities were built in the Republic of Tajikistan, and 120 were renovated and reconstructed. This was announced today at a press conference by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan, Matlubakhon Sattoriyon.
According to her, during the reporting year, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan participated in 65 international scientific and cultural events, festivals, and forums held in 21 countries. These included Days of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan in the People's Republic of China, the Russian Federation, the United States of America, and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The Minister also noted that Tajik artists participated in events dedicated to the 700th anniversary of Hafiz Sherozi, as well as in the Shashmaqom evening held at UNESCO headquarters. Furthermore, representatives of Tajikistan participated in EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Japan, and festivals and cultural days in Turkmenistan, China, and Iran.
As was emphasized, a number of significant international cultural events were held in the Republic of Tajikistan in 2025. These included the "Navruz of Friendship" theatrical program, organized as part of the signing of the Khujand Declaration, the "Navruz" International Festival of Professional Theaters, the 40th meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States Ministers of Culture, the 13th International Book Fair "Dushanbe," and other cultural events.
In total, according to Matlubakhon Sattoriyon, 202 international and national cultural events were held in the country in 2025.
Regarding the development of cultural infrastructure, the Minister of Culture reported that during the reporting period, 44 cultural facilities were built in the republic, and 120 facilities were overhauled and reconstructed, including libraries, community centers, museums, parks, and music schools.
Additionally, 11 libraries have been relocated to new buildings and equipped with modern equipment. Construction of nine cultural facilities is currently underway, with four more in the design stage.
