The two-day Tajikistan Men's Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships concluded in Dushanbe, bringing together the country's strongest wrestlers. The tournament, held under United World Wrestling (UWW) rules, was one of the key domestic competitions of the 2025 season, according to the Wrestling Federation of the Republic of Tajikistan (WFRT).
Athletes from all regions of the republic took part in the competition. A total of 20 weight categories were up for grabs—ten in each wrestling discipline.
In freestyle wrestling competitions, the national champions were Ayaal Belolyubsky (weight category up to 57 kg), Kayum Khalimov (up to 61 kg) and Abdulmazhid Kudiev (up to 65 kg).
Mustafa Akhmedov won the 70 kg weight class, while Muhammadamin Abdulloev won gold in the 74 kg category. Somon Ikromov won the 79 kg weight class, while Salim Khalimzoda won the 86 kg weight class. In the heavyweight categories, Ismoil Kartoyev (92 kg), Rakhmon Makhmadbekov (97 kg), and Farkhod Anakulov (125 kg) became national champions.
In the Greco-Roman wrestling competition, Rasuljon Obloberdiev won the 55 kg weight category, Muhammadradjab Safarov won the 60 kg weight category, and Aslamjon Azizov was the best in the 63 kg category.
Gold medals in the weight categories up to 67 and 72 kg were won by Sunnatullo Abdulloev and Shokhjahon Boboev, respectively. In heavier weights, the country's champions were Alisher Ruziev (up to 77 kg), Khakimjon Zuhurov (up to 82 kg), Muhammad Sultonzoda (up to 87 kg), Kakhramon Tuychiev (up to 97 kg) and Shakhboz Davlatov (up to 130 kg).
As noted by the Wrestling Federation of the Republic of Tajikistan, the results obtained will serve as the basis for further selection of athletes for international competitions and as an important step in preparation for major tournaments next season.
