Areas of mutually beneficial cooperation between the Sverdlovsk Region of Russia and Tajikistan were discussed at the Second International Mining and Metallurgical Forum held in Dushanbe, according to the Sverdlovsk Region's Department of Information Policy.
The region's Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations, Vyacheslav Yarin, noted that the business delegation arrived in Dushanbe to implement a number of projects, including in the mining industry.
The parties discussed joint work in the field of mineral extraction and processing, geological exploration, the introduction of modern technologies, production automation, as well as personnel training and educational programs at educational institutions in the Sverdlovsk region jointly with Tajikistan.
During the forum, the Tajik side was invited to participate in the INNOPROM International Industrial Exhibition, which will be held in Yekaterinburg from July 6 to 9, 2026.
The meeting resulted in the signing of a memorandum on the development of trade, economic, scientific, and technical ties between the Ministry of International and Foreign Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk Region and the Association "Business Center for Economic Development of the CIS." The document was signed by Vyacheslav Yarin and the Association's General Director, Vadim Ganin. Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda was present at the signing.
According to the terms of the memorandum, the parties will strengthen cooperation in the fields of economics, technology, and innovation, as well as develop joint educational and industrial-technical projects.
