On December 11, 2025, a tree planting campaign began in Khatlon Region as part of the State Program for Greening the Republic of Tajikistan until 2040. The event is being carried out under the instructions and orders of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, with the participation of the leadership of the Committee for Environmental Protection and regional executive authorities. This was reported by the press service of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The campaign's inaugural ceremony took place in the village of Dahana in the Gallaobod Jamoat and in the village of Khurramshahr in the Khuroson District. During a meeting with local residents, it was emphasized that, in the face of climate change, including global warming, drought, and the increasing risk of natural disasters, tree planting is an effective way to protect the environment, reduce negative impacts, and enhance ecosystem resilience.
Over 1,000 evergreen and shade trees were planted as part of the campaign. Initiatives like these contribute to a healthier environment, improved local appearance, and a better quality of life for residents.

It is noted that tree planting in the Khatlon region is part of a large-scale state policy on greening and environmental protection, aimed at preserving ecosystems and ensuring sustainable development of the country's regions.
