The innovative "QR Guide" project, developed at the initiative of the city's Executive Authority, has begun implementation in Dushanbe. The decision was approved by the Mayor of Dushanbe as part of the implementation of the "Years of Digital Economy and Innovation Development – 2025–2030" objectives, according to the Tourism Development Department of the Dushanbe Executive Authority.
The project aims to develop tourism infrastructure and provide residents, visitors, and foreign tourists with reliable information about the city's cultural and historical sites.
The initiative's implementation continues the consistent policy of Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon aimed at developing tourism, improving infrastructure, and enhancing the quality of services. Dushanbe Mayor Rustami Emomali places particular emphasis on digitalizing the capital and strengthening its tourism potential.
As part of the project, marble plaques with QR codes are being installed at 45 cultural, historical, and tourist sites. Scanning the code allows access to text and audio information in Tajik, Russian, and English on the Dushanbe Travel portal. The next stage plans to include Chinese and Arabic.
The initiative promotes digital tourism, promotes historical and cultural heritage, and improves the quality of tourist information services. The Tourism Development Department noted that the installation of "QR-guide" signs will continue.
