Construction of a new building for the state institution "Residence of the Head of State of the Republic of Tajikistan in Khujand" has officially begun in Khujand. This was reported by the press service of the President of Tajikistan.
The groundbreaking ceremony was held with the participation of the head of the Sughd region, Rajab Akhmadzoda, and representatives of the public.
According to the design, the new building will consist of a basement and four above-ground floors. The basement will house parking, restrooms, technical facilities, and utility rooms.
The upper floors will house the Leader of the Nation Museum, multi-purpose halls, a conference hall, meeting rooms, a press conference room, a hotel, and other necessary facilities. High standards of national architecture are being applied during construction.
The project was developed by the "Single Window, Monitoring, and Urban Development Cadastre" Implementation Center of the Main Department of Architecture and Urban Development of Dushanbe. The clients are the Executive Authority of the State Authority of the Sughd Region and the construction company Eurostroyservis.
During the event, regional governor Rajab Akhmadzoda noted that large-scale improvement and construction projects are expanding in Sughd Region in honor of the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's state independence. He stated that 12,066 facilities have been commissioned in the region to date, achieving 100.5% of the plan. According to the program, thousands more new facilities will be built in the region by September 2026.
