Tajikistan and China held the first meeting of the Strategic Dialogue in Dushanbe

The first meeting of the Strategic Dialogue at the level of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the People's Republic of China was held in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan reported.

During the talks, which took place in a traditional atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding, the foreign ministers of both countries noted the importance of the timely implementation of the agreements reached by the leaders of the two states in 2024–2025, as well as the bilateral documents signed following these high-level meetings.

The parties reaffirmed the high level of comprehensive strategic partnership between Tajikistan and China in various areas of mutually beneficial cooperation. Particular attention was paid to expanding and deepening cooperation in priority areas, including trade, economics, investment, industry, energy, transport, agriculture, the digital economy and e-commerce, innovative technologies and artificial intelligence, the environment and the green economy, security, and other areas.

The Strategic Dialogue also discussed ways to further develop and expand bilateral cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres. Furthermore, the parties exchanged views on important regional and international issues.

The Tajik side emphasized that the process of constructive consideration of the issue of signing the "Convention on the Establishment of an International Mediation Organization" by the Republic of Tajikistan is currently ongoing.

Following the meeting, the foreign ministers signed a Joint Statement of the First Meeting of the Strategic Dialogue.

The Strategic Dialogue mechanism at the level of foreign ministers was created based on the agreements reached between the heads of state of Tajikistan and China, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding between the foreign ministries of the two countries on the establishment of a cooperation mechanism between foreign ministers, signed in June 2025.
