An increase in air pollution with suspended particles (PM-10 and PM-2.5) is forecast in Dushanbe and several districts of the country from November 21 to 24, according to the Agency of Hydrometeorology of the Republic of Tajikistan.
It is noted that increased air dustiness negatively impacts the health of the population, especially children, the elderly, and citizens with chronic diseases.
According to experts, the number of dust storms in the region has been increasing in recent years, which is due to climate change and low air humidity in the desert and semi-desert zones of neighboring Central Asian states, Iran, and Afghanistan.
Environmentalists emphasize that dust storms have a negative impact on the environment, agriculture, flora and fauna, and human health.
