As part of the friendly cooperation policy between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic, the Isfara-Chorkuh-Vorukh road section has reopened, the press service of the Sughd regional administration reported .
The opening of the road was made possible thanks to the joint efforts of the presidents of the two countries – President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov.
The opening ceremony was attended by the heads of the Sughd region, Rajab Akhmadzoda, and the Batken region of the Kyrgyz Republic, Aibek Shamenov.
Previously, due to the closure of this section of the road, residents of the villages of Vorukh and Chorkukh were forced to travel through the village of Chorbog towards the city of Isfara. Since the road's reopening, the distance has been reduced by approximately one kilometer, significantly facilitating travel for residents of the border areas.
During a meeting with residents and law enforcement officials, the regional leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in all areas. They noted that the friendly proximity of the populations in the border areas is an important foundation for the further development of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
It is noted that the implementation of such initiatives will contribute to strengthening economic, social and cultural cooperation between the two countries and will benefit both fraternal peoples.
