Tajikistan's champion, Dushanbe's Istiklol football club, defeated Iraq's Al-Zawraa 2-1 in a third-round match of the group stage of the second Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League for the 2025/26 season.
The match took place today at the Central Stadium in Gissar. With this victory, Istiklol strengthened its position in the Group D standings.
In another match of the same group, the Saudi Arabian club Al-Nasr defeated the Indian team Goa away with a score of 2:1.
After three rounds, Al-Nasr leads Group D with nine points. Istiklol is in second place with six points. Al-Zawraa is third with three points, and Goa is at the bottom of the table with no points.
In the next round, which will take place in early November, Istiklol will play an away match against Al-Zawraa, while Al-Nasr will host Indian Goa on its home field.
