In Dushanbe, the driver of a BMW with license plate 1001YX10 was detained for failing to yield to an ambulance. The Dushanbe Department of Internal Affairs reported this on October 15.
Emergency vehicles, including ambulances, police, and fire trucks, have priority on the road and use horns to warn other road users. Despite this, some drivers ignore the rules and impede the progress of emergency services.
As can be seen from the video recording provided by the ambulance workers, citizen Safarzoda Abdukhakim , while driving a BMW, did not pay attention to the emergency vehicle’s horns and did not give it the right-of-way on the road.
During the inspection, the driver was stopped by traffic police officers, after which an administrative protocol was drawn up against him under Article 318 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Tajikistan .
The Dushanbe Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs once again calls on all drivers to strictly adhere to traffic regulations and give priority to emergency vehicles to ensure the timely arrival of ambulances, firefighters, and police officers at emergency scenes.
