Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan Daler Juma met with Tatyana Molchan, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), who arrived in Dushanbe to participate in the Dushanbe Invest-2025 international investment forum. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation between Tajikistan and UN agencies in the areas of rational water resource management, energy development, and climate change mitigation. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of joint projects and initiatives aimed at ensuring sustainable water use and advancing the climate agenda at the regional and global levels.
Minister Daler Juma noted that Tajikistan consistently advocates for expanded international cooperation in the water and climate sectors and is a recognized leader in promoting these initiatives. He emphasized that the country is actively implementing projects aimed at improving energy efficiency and the sustainable use of natural resources.
UNECE Executive Secretary Tatyana Molchan, in turn, praised Tajikistan's contribution to addressing global water and climate issues. She stated that Tajik initiatives serve as an example of successful international partnership based on the principles of sustainable development.
She also emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation between Tajikistan and the UNECE, noting that joint efforts in the field of water and climate projects are of great importance for achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The parties expressed their readiness to further strengthen their partnership and implement new initiatives aimed at protecting ecosystems, effectively managing water resources, and developing green energy.
