Dushanbe police officers detained 37-year-old Dushanbe resident Aziz Sudurov, who, posing as a law enforcement officer, disturbed public order and assaulted a taxi driver. This was reported by the Dushanbe police press service.
According to the department, the incident occurred after police received an email from a taxi driver. An investigation revealed that Sudurov, while using the taxi, behaved aggressively, insulted the driver with obscene language, and then punched him several times. The offender, however, claimed to be a law enforcement officer, even though he had no basis for doing so.
Police officers quickly identified and located the offender. After his arrest, Aziz Sudurov was taken to the police station for clarification of the circumstances surrounding the incident.
An administrative protocol was drawn up against the offender under Article 460 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Tajikistan (petty hooliganism). The court sentenced him to ten days of administrative arrest.
The Dushanbe Department of Internal Affairs press service urged citizens to immediately contact law enforcement agencies in such situations. A hotline is available for this purpose: (+992) 018-02-02-02.
Law enforcement agencies emphasized that any cases of unauthorized appropriation of law enforcement authority and violation of public order will be dealt with in strict accordance with the law.
