In accordance with the instructions and orders of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, systematic construction and development work aimed at developing the industrial and agricultural sectors continues in the city of Penjikent. This was reported by the press service of the Sughd Regional Administration.
During a working visit, the Chairman of the Sughd Region, Rajab Akhmadzoda, familiarized himself with the progress of ongoing projects.
Specifically, the regional leader visited Boradtek-Tajikistan Mining Investment Limited and learned about the joint venture's new projects. According to the administration, a new workshop for final processing of raw materials will be built on the company's premises. The project is expected to attract 200 million somoni in investment and create 300 new jobs.
Rajab Akhmadzoda emphasized that cooperation between Tajikistan and China in the mining sector contributes to increasing production capacity and attracting foreign investment, as well as creating opportunities for the production of finished products at domestic enterprises.
The regional chairman also reviewed the operating plans of Kanzi Diyor, a limited liability company specializing in antimony production. According to the information presented, a new facility with a production capacity of up to 2,000 tons of ore per day will be built in the Moghyan rural jamoat of Penjakent. The total investment will amount to 500 million somoni, and the facility will create 500 jobs during its initial phase.
Kanzi Diyor is currently developing the necessary infrastructure for the plant, and construction is ongoing on two residential communities for engineers and workers, offering modern living conditions. Practical measures are also being taken to provide them with electricity and drinking water. The regional chairman emphasized the need for all measures to be implemented in a timely and high-quality manner, with the support of the city's executive authorities.
Rajab Akhmadzoda also toured Penjikent's leading farms. In particular, the Mirzo Qayyumov farm has organized a second crop after harvesting the main crop and continues growing seasonal vegetables. Farmers noted that by using high-yielding seeds and adhering to proper agricultural practices, they can achieve a bountiful harvest.
This year, re-seeding was carried out on an area of 2,641.6 hectares in Penjikent, where grains, legumes, corn for grain, industrial crops and various vegetables are grown.
The Sughd Region Chairman recalled the instructions of President Emomali Rahmon, emphasizing that the efficient use of every plot of land, increasing crop yields, and creating agricultural reserves should be a priority for city and community leaders.
It is noted that seven key projects will be implemented in Penjikent over the next ten years to bring unused land into agricultural use, develop new areas, and improve irrigation systems. These projects will be financed by the executive authorities of the Sughd region, the city of Penjikent, and financial institutions, ensuring the sustainable development of industry and agriculture in the region.
