Preparations for the upcoming Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Heads of State Summit and the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers meeting have been completed in Dushanbe. A meeting chaired by the Republic of Tajikistan was held to discuss the organizational aspects of the upcoming meetings, reports a correspondent from NIAT Khovar.
During the meeting, the Commonwealth's officials discussed and agreed on the final documents of the events at the highest and ministerial levels, and exchanged views on the organizational and protocol aspects of the CIS Summit and the meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers.
Shohin Samadi, Head of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, reported that comprehensive work has been carried out to ensure information coverage of the events and create all the necessary conditions for journalists to cover them. Particular attention has been paid to the preparation and operation of the press center located in the National Library of Tajikistan.
"The press center will become the main workspace for local and international journalists. Its technical equipment has now been fully installed: computers, Wi-Fi and internet access, workstations, and areas for interviews and online broadcasts. Regular coffee breaks have been organized for the convenience of media representatives," Samadi emphasized.
He added that journalist accreditation was announced well in advance, with the application deadline being October 1. However, requests continue to arrive after the deadline, demonstrating the high level of interest in the upcoming events.
Particular attention is paid to issues of security, coordination and ensuring equal access of all accredited media representatives to official events.
According to Shokhin Samadi, a total of 620 badges have been issued to representatives of domestic and international media, including leading international agencies and television channels. Accredited journalists include Al Jazeera, Xinhua, and several German publications. Access to event venues will be granted exclusively to pool card holders.
