From October 15 to 20, 2025, the Toji Somon International Film Festival will be held in Dushanbe. It will coincide with Tajik Cinema Day, celebrated on October 16, according to the Tajikfilm State Institution. This year's festival motto is "The History of Tajik Development."
Filmmakers from 20 countries will participate in the event, which will be an important step in the development of Tajik cinema and attracting international attention to the national film industry.
The festival program includes Film Days for participating countries, including Russia, Iran, India, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan. The festival will feature a meeting of the Board of Directors of film studios, screenings of feature films, fiction films, and documentaries, and a conference featuring renowned filmmakers from near and far.
Particular attention will be given to the "Master and Apprentice" master class, which will allow young filmmakers to exchange experiences with recognized industry professionals. The festival will also feature an International Film Forum dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the renowned Tajik film director and winner of the A. Rudaki State Prize of Tajikistan, Bakhtiyor Khudoynazarov.
The festival organizers emphasize that holding "Toji Somon" contributes to strengthening international cultural ties and promoting Tajik cinema globally, as well as creating opportunities for professional exchange and creative collaboration between filmmakers from different countries.
