On September 22, Turkish Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkan visited the Ministry of Labor, Migration, and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan. The Turkish minister was received by the head of the Tajik ministry, Soleh Kholmaḥmadzoda. The two sides discussed current cooperation and prospects for collaboration in labor relations and employment, according to the ministry's press service.
During the visit, the first meeting of the Joint Working Committee of Tajikistan and Turkey was held, at which the current status of bilateral cooperation was discussed within the framework of the Agreement on Mutual Cooperation between the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of Turkey dated October 11, 2002.
The parties identified priority areas for joint work: labor supervision, occupational health and safety, digitalization of employment services, and professional skills development. They also discussed a draft Joint Action Plan for 2026–2027 for the practical implementation of this agreement.
Following the meeting, Ministers Soleh Kholmakhadzoda and Vedat Ishikan signed a protocol approving a joint action plan for 2026–2027 and outlining specific areas of cooperation for the next two years.
It is envisaged that cooperation within the framework of the plan will be strengthened in the areas of occupational health and safety, increasing the effectiveness of labor supervision, introducing modern control methods, employment, developing professional skills, and conducting comparative research.
During the visit, the Turkish minister and his accompanying delegation also visited the Center for the Development of Crafts and Modern Professional Skills, expressing their readiness for further cooperation in the field of vocational training.
