On September 18, 2025, the Turkmenistan Investment Forum (TIF 2025) officially opened in the Avaza National Tourist Zone. This large-scale event brought together over 800 international and local delegates ready to discuss the country's investment potential.
The forum began with a plenary session entitled "Turkmenistan's Investment Attractiveness as a Factor of Strategic Effectiveness." The session was moderated by Dmitry Shlapachenko, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan.
Keynote addresses were delivered by influential global experts, including Beatriz Luz Macer Mallor, Managing Director of the World Bank, and Rabab Fatima, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, who joined the discussion online.
Turkmenistan's Minister of Finance and Economy, Mammetguly Astanagulov, presented the government's strategy for attracting foreign investment and ensuring stable economic growth.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Akhmet Gurbanov delivered a speech at the plenary session. In his address, he outlined the key factors that make the country a reliable partner for international business, emphasizing that Turkmenistan's investment attractiveness is directly linked to its development strategy and foreign policy.
UN Deputy Secretary-General Rabab Fatima addressed the participants of the Avaza Investment Forum via video. She praised Turkmenistan's leadership in advancing the interests of landlocked developing countries (LLDCs) and presented new UN initiatives aimed at attracting investment.
Over the course of two days, the forum will feature thematic sessions dedicated to priority economic sectors.
The organizers of TIF 2025 are the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
