Suspects in the brutal murder of four members of the Ibragimov family have been detained in the village of Darebod in the Rudaki district, the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) press service reported.
According to the agency, the suspects—S.N. and A.S., previously convicted residents of the same village—entered the Ibragimovs' home with the intention of robbing them. Upon being spotted by the homeowners, the perpetrators killed the woman and three children.
The victims were 44-year-old Shakhlo Nazarova and her children: Khabiba (a 10th-grader), Hamida (8th grade), and Sharaf (6th grade). At the time, the father, Khalim Ibragimov, was working in Russia. Unable to reach his wife by phone, he asked neighbors to check the house. Upon entering, the neighbors discovered the boy's body, his hands and feet bound, and his mouth taped shut. The bodies of the woman and two daughters were found in other rooms.
The crime was only revealed on September 8. Until then, officials had kept the information secret to avoid interfering with the investigation.
The detainees are being held in a temporary detention facility. The prosecutor's office continues its investigation into the criminal case. Evidence has been seized as part of the investigative operations.
The Tajik Ministry of Internal Affairs calls on citizens to report any information that could assist in the investigation of crimes and emphasizes that security measures in the area have been strengthened.
