In Tajikistan's capital, police detained taxi driver Azizjon Sobirov for using rude language toward female passengers, according to the Dushanbe Department of Internal Affairs.
According to the department, the incident occurred after a complaint from a young woman. During the investigation, Criminal Investigation Department officers discovered that Sobirov, driving a BYD with license plate number 6628TT09, regularly made offensive statements toward women, including the complainant.
An administrative report was filed against the driver for the violations. The court sentenced him to five days of administrative arrest. Furthermore, Sobirov's employment contract with the passenger company was terminated, and he is no longer allowed to continue transporting passengers.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that drivers of vehicles, especially public transport, are required to comply with traffic rules and show respect for passengers.
