A 20-year-old resident suspected of the brutal murder of a 19-year-old girl has been detained in the Zafarabad district of Tajikistan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan reports .
According to law enforcement, the motive for the crime was personal animosity and jealousy. The girl's parents refused to let her marry the suspect. On the morning of September 5, the man forcibly drove the girl away in his Opel Astra to an unknown destination.
"In the car, the suspect stabbed the victim 16 times in her vital organs. Afterwards, intending to kill her, he pushed her into an unfinished building in the village of Login, doused her with gasoline, and set her on fire. She died instantly," the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
A criminal case has been opened against the suspect under Part 2 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan (premeditated murder). An investigation is underway, and the necessary investigative measures are being taken.
Local law enforcement officials note that this crime is particularly brutal and has attracted public attention, emphasizing the need for strict monitoring of residents' safety and a prompt response to such incidents.
