A delegation from the Committee for Youth and Sports under the Government of Tajikistan visited several historical and cultural monuments in the city of Shiraz as part of an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, the department's press service reported .
The trip included a visit to the Persepolis architectural complex, the so-called Throne of Jamshed, which is considered a symbol of ancient Aryan civilization and the power of the Achaemenid Empire.
The delegation also visited the Rustam monument, located within the historic complex of Achaemenid royal tombs and ancient rock carvings. The unique carvings and architectural elements, which have survived to this day, were noted as a vivid testimony to Iran's cultural heritage and rich history.
One of the key highlights of the visit was the tomb of Kurush the Great, the founder of the Achaemenid Empire, which symbolizes statehood and national unity.
The Committee noted that such visits strengthen historical and cultural ties between Tajikistan and Iran and create conditions for the further expansion of cultural and scientific cooperation.
