The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon, held a state awards ceremony at the Palace of the Nation to mark the 34th anniversary of the country's independence. This was reported by the presidential press service.
In accordance with the presidential decree, military personnel and representatives of security and law enforcement agencies were awarded state awards, and a number of officers were awarded special military and service ranks.
In his speech, Emomali Rahmon emphasized the key role of the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies in ensuring Tajikistan's independence, as well as strengthening national security and law and order. "The military and law enforcement officers make a significant contribution to building a democratic, law-based, and secular society, protecting the country's borders, and ensuring stability," the president noted.
The head of state emphasized that the Armed Forces and other security agencies of Tajikistan were created during the years of independence and today serve as a reliable support for the country. "They are always ready to defend the freedom and independence of our beloved homeland," Emomali Rahmon said.
Following the ceremony, those awarded received orders, medals, and honorary titles for their services in strengthening the country's defense capability, ensuring law and order, and protecting national interests.
The event became one of the key ceremonial events timed to coincide with the celebration of Tajikistan's Independence Day, which is celebrated annually on September 9.
