On August 26, a working meeting was held in Tajikistan between Dilovar Pirzoda, First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Land Management and Geodesy of the Republic of Tajikistan, and an Asian Development Bank delegation led by Paolo Manunta. The discussion focused on the digitalization of the land sector, specialist training, and the implementation of pilot projects in land relations, according to the State Committee's press service.
During the meeting, the parties noted that cooperation with the Asian Development Bank contributes to strengthening the country's institutional capacity and the introduction of modern technologies, including geographic information systems (GIS), which creates a solid foundation for the implementation of state programs in the land sector.
The State Committee for Land Management and Geodesy of Tajikistan is the authorized body for the development of the national spatial data infrastructure. As representatives of the State Committee emphasized, the development of such infrastructure is a key element of state policy in the areas of digitalization, sustainable socioeconomic development, and regional integration.
The parties also expressed their willingness to expand cooperation, implement joint projects, and exchange experiences in the field of digitalization and modernization of land management, which will improve the efficiency of land management and enhance transparency in this area.
