On August 22, 2025, special consultations on improving the activities of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) were held in Minsk under the chairmanship of the Republic of Tajikistan. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
During the event, the parties discussed practical measures aimed at improving the effectiveness of cooperation between CIS member states. Particular attention was paid to optimizing the work of industry bodies, as well as issues of quota distribution and rotation of officials on the Executive Committee.
Participants in the consultations exchanged views on prospects for coordinating joint projects and improving decision-making procedures within the CIS. The parties noted the importance of a systematic approach to modernizing the organization's activities to ensure sustainable cooperation and the implementation of strategic initiatives.
Following the consultations, the participants agreed to continue working together to develop recommendations aimed at strengthening the institutional effectiveness and transparency of CIS bodies.
