The population of Tajikistan as of July 1, 2025, was 10,603,800, according to the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, citing data from the Department of Demographic Statistics.
In the first six months of this year, the country's population increased by 2.1% compared to the same period in 2024. Natural population growth amounted to 98,900 people, or 18.8 people per thousand population, which is 2% more than in the first half of last year.
From January to June 2025, civil registry offices registered 116,200 newborns and 17,200 deaths, including 800 children under one year of age.
According to preliminary data, the crude birth rate was 22.1 per 1,000 people, and the mortality rate was 3.3 per 1,000 people. The number of registered births in the first half of 2025 increased by 2.1% compared to the same period last year.
Analysts note that population growth in Tajikistan is driven by both natural growth and positive birth rate dynamics, which creates favorable conditions for the country's sustainable socioeconomic development.
