On August 20, 2025, a working meeting between specialists from the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan and a delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) took place in Dushanbe, the ministry's press center reported.
During the meeting, issues related to the design and system monitoring of the Financial Sector Development Program for Emergency Response were discussed, taking into account a multi-level approach to risk management in the country.
Particular attention was paid to identifying target groups for assistance under the Disaster Relief Bonds. Discussions focused on the most vulnerable groups—women, children, the elderly, and those affected by natural disasters.
The meeting participants examined the possibilities of integrating financial support for orphans provided by the Asian Development Bank into the existing social protection system and assessed institutional capacity and fund distribution mechanisms.
Additionally, the progress of healthcare reforms and pre-determined conditions for the allocation of funds under the emergency financing mechanism were discussed. Participants noted the importance of transparent and effective resource allocation to ensure timely assistance to victims and maintain the sustainability of the social protection system.
