Taras Kupchikov, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the CIS Electric Power Council, met with Daler Juma, Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, in Dushanbe. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Tajikistan.
The talks took place during the working visit of the head of the CIS EC Executive Committee to Tajikistan. The parties focused on the preparation and holding of the 67th meeting of the CIS Electric Power Council, scheduled to take place in the capital of Tajikistan during the CIS Heads of State Summit on October 10 of this year.
The Ministry of Energy noted that the upcoming meeting will focus on strategic areas for the Council's development, current administrative matters, and personnel decisions.
In 2025, Tajikistan will assume the CIS Presidency. According to the Presidency Concept, the republic will host most of the Commonwealth's high-level official events.
Earlier, on June 5, a meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council was held in Dushanbe, chaired by Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda. Before the meeting, the heads of government were received by President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. The head of state emphasized that, as part of his chairmanship, the Republic is working consistently to develop multilateral cooperation within the Commonwealth, based on the principles of friendship, trust, and consideration of the interests of all parties.
The October summit of CIS heads of state in Dushanbe is expected to be a key event in Tajikistan's chairmanship of the organization and will allow for a review of the implementation of the Chairmanship Concept, prepared last December.
