In the capital of Tajikistan, police officers are conducting routine passport checks, according to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the agency, law enforcement officers are visiting residential buildings, verifying the number of residents, recording passport information and phone numbers, and inquiring about their place of work.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that such checks are conducted annually as part of passport control and are aimed at identifying violations of residence registration rules, as well as other requirements of migration legislation.
The police remind that citizens are required to have registration at their place of residence and to present documents upon request by law enforcement officers.
