Tajikistan's export volume in the first half of 2025 amounted to just over $996 million, a 5.3% decrease compared to the same period in 2024. This was announced by Khurshed Karimzoda, Chairman of the Republic's Customs Service, during a press conference held on August 7 in Dushanbe.
"In value terms, the decline was $53 million. At the same time, imports increased by 9.4%, reaching over $3.8 billion—an increase of $943 million compared to the same period last year," he noted.
According to Karimzoda, the share of imports in the structure of foreign trade amounted to 80.1%, while exports accounted for only 19.9%.
Main export items:
Antimony – 30.4% of total exports
Ores and concentrates – 12.8%
Cotton fiber – 5.8%
Electricity – 4.5%
Fruits and vegetables – 3.4%
Geography of export changes:
An increase in export volumes was recorded to the Netherlands, Uzbekistan, China, Turkey, Belgium, Pakistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
There was a reduction in supplies to Russia, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, and Iran.
Karimzoda emphasized that the country's government is taking measures to optimize the foreign trade balance, as well as to expand the geography of exports and increase the share of high-value-added products.
