State forest protection agencies of Tajikistan continue their systematic work to identify and prevent violations in the field of forestry and hunting. According to the Forestry Agency, in the first half of 2025 alone, forest protection officers identified 710 cases of violations of current legislation.
The total damage caused to the state forest fund as a result of these violations amounted to 647.2 thousand somoni, of which 412.3 thousand somoni have already been compensated in accordance with the established procedure.
The most significant share of violations is made up of cases of illegal felling of trees — 450 incidents worth 290.6 thousand somoni. Also recorded were: 120 cases of unauthorized grazing of livestock (damage — 76.4 thousand somoni); 35 cases of unauthorized collection of food and medicinal plants (14.9 thousand somoni); 37 cases of illegal hunting (6.5 thousand somoni); 14 violations of fire safety rules in forests (2.3 thousand somoni); 53 cases of other types of offenses (248.9 thousand somoni).
In addition, during the reporting period, 514 protocols on administrative offenses were drawn up for a total amount of 186.4 thousand somoni, of which 153.7 thousand somoni were collected.
The Forestry Agency actively cooperates with the prosecutor's office and other law enforcement agencies to compensate for damage caused and ensure compliance with legislation in the field of natural resource management.
At the same time, work is underway to effectively use forest resources. Thus, over the first six months of 2025, forestry enterprises and organizations of the Agency system, with the participation of the local population, collected over 137.8 tons of food and medicinal plants, sold on the domestic market. In order to prepare for the 2025-2026 winter season, over 750 tons of natural hay were prepared for livestock needs and biotechnical activities.
Work on forest protection and rational use of natural resources continues as planned.
