The volume of electricity production in the Republic of Tajikistan for January-July of this year amounted to over 8.9 billion kilowatt-hours. This was reported by Deputy General Director of JSC Barki Tojik Abdullo Kurbonzoda at a press conference held on July 30 in Dushanbe.
According to him, the total volume of electricity generation at hydroelectric power plants and thermal power plants included in the structure of Barki Tojik OJSC increased by 944.6 million kWh compared to the same period in 2024. In particular, hydroelectric power plants account for more than 8.3 billion kWh, while thermal power plants produced 858.9 million kWh.
“The growth in production is associated with both favorable hydrological conditions and increased efficiency of the energy system,” noted Kurbonzoda.
Particular attention at the press conference was paid to the issue of electricity losses. According to the information presented, losses in the networks of hydroelectric power plants and thermal power plants amounted to 34.3 million kWh, or 0.39% of the total output. Compared to the same period in 2024, this figure decreased by 1 million kWh, or 0.05%.
In addition, over the first seven months of this year, the country produced 812.6 thousand gigacalories of thermal energy, which is 29.7 thousand Gcal more than last year’s figure for the same period.
The energy company's management noted that work to modernize and improve the reliability of the energy system continues as planned.
