The construction of seven new overpasses is planned in the capital of Tajikistan. $58 million will be allocated for the implementation of this infrastructure project using grant funds from international donors. This was announced by the First Deputy Chairman of the City of Dushanbe Bakhtiyor Sharifi at a press conference.
According to him, the overpasses will be built to relieve traffic flows and improve road infrastructure in the most congested areas of the city. In particular, they will appear at the following intersections: Sokhili and Yuzhnaya streets, where a bridge will also be built across the Dushanbe River, Abdurakhmon Jomi and A. Kakhhorov streets, Abay and A. Kakhhorov streets, Sa'di Sherozi and Khofizi Sherozi streets, Sheralizoda and Khofizi Sherozi streets, Nazarshoev, Aini streets and Sa'di Sherozi avenue, Sa'di Sherozi and Nusratullo Karabayev avenues.
“To ensure the quality of construction, both domestic and foreign specialists will be involved in the implementation of the project,” Sharifi noted.
According to him, these interchanges will become part of a comprehensive program to modernize Dushanbe’s road network and will help reduce congestion and improve traffic safety.
