The Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan held a working meeting with representatives of the international company Starlink, part of the SpaceX group. This was reported by the press service of the Agency.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in accelerating digital transformation, expanding access to high-speed Internet, including providing communications in remote and hard-to-reach areas of the republic.
During the meeting, the Tajik side presented the mandate, objectives and priority areas of activity of the Agency, including the development and implementation of state digital policy, the introduction of innovative solutions, the development of IT infrastructure and ensuring digital inclusiveness.
Particular attention was paid to initiatives to expand satellite coverage across the country using Starlink technologies, which will ensure stable internet connections in regions with insufficient telecommunications infrastructure.
During the visit, Starlink representatives also got acquainted with the activities of the Certification Centers, Government Services and Digital Program Development OJSC under the Agency, which functions as the operational center for digital solutions. The delegation was shown key projects in the field of digital platforms, mobile applications and cybersecurity.
Following the talks, the parties expressed mutual interest in deepening cooperation and implementing joint projects aimed at accelerating the digital development of the Republic of Tajikistan.
