Over the past weekend, two traffic accidents occurred in the Khatlon region of the Republic of Tajikistan, as a result of which one person died and seven others were seriously injured. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic.
As specified by the department, the first accident occurred on July 17, 2025 at about 17:30 on the highway in the Vose district. The driver of the KamAZ-43118-10 Zubaydullo Ashurov, born in 1977, a resident of Dushanbe, moving from Dushanbe in the direction of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with an Opel Astra driven by Abdullo Sirojiddin, born in 2004, a resident of the Hamadoni district.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the Opel Astra, as well as the passengers of the car – Sadbarg Ibrahim, born in 1994, and minor Khasanov Shermukhammad Bakhtiyorovich, born in 2020 – were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
At the moment when passengers were disembarking from the damaged car, a KamAZ-5511 driven by Ibodullo Zubaydulloevich, born in 1978, a resident of the Farkhor district, crashed into the same section of the road. It collided successively with an Opel Astra and a Toyota Camry, the latter driven by Karimov Firuzjon, born in 1997, a resident of the city of Kulyab.
As a result of the second collision, the passengers of the Toyota Camry were seriously injured: Karimova Guliston (born in 1980), Karimova Malohat (born in 1989), Dilshodi Akramkhon (born in 1990) and Saidzoda Safarakhmad (born in 2001). All the victims were hospitalized.
The second accident occurred the same evening, July 17, at about 18:30 in the Kushoniyon district. The driver of the Opel Astra, Akbar Zoirov, born in 1987, a resident of the Vakhsh district, lost control and hit a cyclist, Muzafar Gulomov, born in 1961, a local resident.
As a result of the collision, the victim died on the spot. The driver fled, but was later detained by police officers during operational and investigative activities.
A criminal case has been opened on both accidents and an investigation is underway.
Two fatal accidents recorded in Pyanj and Asht districts of Tajikistan
Two road accidents occurred in the Pyandzh and Asht districts of Tajikistan, resulting in the deaths of two people, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic reports.
According to the department, on July 18, 2025, at about 10:30 p.m. in the village of Namuna in the Panj district, the driver of an Opel Astra, Kurbonali Nurmatov, born in 1999, violated traffic rules and collided with a motorcycle. The motorcycle driver, local resident Sirojiddin Davlatov, born in 2005, received serious injuries and died on the way to a medical facility.
Another accident occurred on July 19 at about 14:20 in the Asht district. The driver of a Mercedes-Benz, Akhmadzhon Supiev, born in 1974, was driving towards the village of Iftikhor when he lost control and hit a cyclist, Abduvahob Kodirov, born in 1940. The man died while being taken to the hospital.
An investigation has been launched into both incidents, and the circumstances of the incidents are being checked.
