During the first half of 2025, as part of the implementation of the project "State Service for Monitoring Exogenous Geological Processes", engineering and geological surveys were carried out in 347 settlements in the territory of cities and districts, as well as in the Khatlon and Sughd regions of the Republic of Tajikistan. This was announced on Monday at a press conference by the head of the Main Geology Department Ilkhomjon Oymukhammadzoda.
According to him, as a result of the survey, high-risk areas were identified, as a result of which 68 households and one secondary school were given recommendations to relocate to safe areas.
In addition, within the framework of the project "Maintenance of the State Water Cadastre", specialists conducted primary observations at 81 water sources, repeated observations at 294, and ongoing observations at 81 wells and reservoirs. 141 water samples were also taken for chemical analysis. According to the results obtained, the chemical composition of groundwater was recognized as stable.
As part of the program “Search for underground water to provide water for healthcare, education and social protection facilities,” three new wells with a total depth of 220 meters have been drilled across the country.
During the press conference it was also noted that occupational health and safety at enterprises engaged in geological exploration are ensured in full compliance with approved plans and regulations. No accidents or violations of occupational health and safety requirements were recorded during the reporting period.
