A meeting of the expert group to agree on the draft Plan of events dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held on July 16 at the CIS headquarters, the press service of the Organization's executive committee reported.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the Secretariat of the Council of the IPA CIS, the Interstate Statistical Committee, the Interstate Television and Radio Broadcasting Company "Mir", the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation and the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth.

The experts reviewed the proposals submitted to the draft Plan and, taking into account the discussion that took place, agreed on the document. It was decided to submit it to the CIS Economic Council for consideration in accordance with the established procedure.
The draft Plan includes several dozen points providing for the implementation of a number of organizational, scientific and practical events, as well as economic and humanitarian events.
These include holding an anniversary meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth with the adoption of a Statement on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the CIS, holding a “CIS Week” in the Commonwealth states, preparing and broadcasting television programs and documentaries dedicated to the anniversary date, organizing and holding a Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS Member States, a single lesson in educational institutions, exhibitions and expositions, games and tournaments in various sports.
