The National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan and Japan intend to expand cooperation in the field of scientific research. This was discussed at a meeting between the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Kobiljon Khushvakhtzoda and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Tajikistan Keiko Furuta, the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic reported, NIAT Khovar reports.
It was noted that cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan and Akita University is developing at a good level.
In 2022, the Center for Innovative Development of Science and New Technologies of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, together with Akita University, launched a project to use geothermal resources to create a modern sustainable construction system. This will reduce dependence on traditional energy sources – wood, coal and gas – and help reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
Cooperation in the field of education between Tajikistan and Japan has been developing steadily since 1993. During this time, more than 2,500 specialists from the republic have undergone training and advanced training in Japan.
Under the Japan Development Support Program (JDS), which provides for master's and doctoral studies, 136 government officials have received master's and doctoral degrees since 2009.
