In the administrative center of the Sughd region, the city of Khujand, 23 new small and medium-sized industrial enterprises were put into operation in the first six months of 2025, local authorities report.
The total number of industrial enterprises in Khujand has reached 321. New production facilities have been built and equipped with modern technologies, employing 142 people. The total volume of direct investment in the creation of new enterprises has exceeded 20 million somoni.
According to the executive authority of Khujand, the total volume of production for the specified period amounted to 922.7 million somoni, of which 214.7 million somoni were exported to foreign countries.
In particular, the number of enterprises producing import-substituting products in the city has increased significantly in the first six months of 2025. During the reporting period, 126 small and large enterprises produced products worth 490.9 million somoni, which is 82.8 million somoni, or 20.3 percent more than in the same period last year.
The authorities emphasized that the development of industrial enterprises in Khujand makes a significant contribution to accelerating the country's industrialization, which is one of Tajikistan's priority national goals aimed at strengthening the industrial sector and increasing production volumes.
