Tajikistan's banking system assets reached 63.6 billion somoni in the first half of 2026, an increase of 21.8% year-on-year. This was announced at a press conference at the National Bank of Tajikistan, where the banking system's performance for January–June of this year was presented.
According to the National Bank, the total assets of credit financial institutions increased by 11.4 billion somoni compared to the same period last year.
The volume of liabilities of the banking system reached 51.5 billion somoni , which is 22.4% or 9.4 billion somoni higher than the figure for June 2025.


The balance sheet capital of credit financial institutions also demonstrated steady growth and amounted to 12.1 billion somoni , an increase of 2 billion somoni or 19.5% year-on-year.
As of June 30, there were 69 credit financial institutions operating in Tajikistan, including 18 traditional banks , 1 Islamic bank , 27 microcredit deposit organizations , 2 microcredit organizations and 21 microcredit funds .
The number of branches and other structural divisions of banks and microfinance organizations reached 1971 , increasing by 29 units over the year.
The National Bank noted that the growth of key financial indicators indicates the strengthening of the banking sector's stability and the expansion of its ability to finance the country's economy.
