All 65 administrative centers of cities and districts in Tajikistan now have fully developed master plans, according to a press release from the Committee for Architecture and Construction under the Government of the Republic, based on the results of the first half of 2026.
Providing cities and districts with master plans and detailed territorial planning projects is one of the main areas of the Committee’s activities.
Master plans define the main directions of urban development of populated areas, the placement of residential and public facilities, transport and engineering infrastructure, as well as the future use of territories.
Despite the full provision of master plans for administrative centers, work in this area continues. Design organizations within the Committee's system are developing and revising urban planning documentation, as well as preparing detailed planning projects for the central parts of cities and districts.

In the first half of 2026, design institutes and state unitary enterprises of the Committee system completed design and research work worth more than 27.7 million somoni.
The volume of work completed amounted to 127.6% of the level of the same period in 2025. Thus, the figure increased by 27.6% compared to the first half of last year.
The Committee notes that the development and updating of master plans is necessary for the orderly development of cities and regions, the rational use of land resources, and the planning of the construction of social, transport, and engineering infrastructure.
At the same time, work continues in the country on detailed planning projects for individual territories and central parts of populated areas.
