In June 2026, 60,200 migration-related offenses were prevented in Russia as part of the first phase of Operation Illegal-2026, according to Irina Volk, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, during the operation, 14,600 foreign citizens were expelled administratively or deported from Russia.
In addition, decisions were made to deny entry to the country to 29.3 thousand foreigners.
During the first phase of the operation, law enforcement agencies also identified and held 10,400 unscrupulous employers administratively liable for illegally recruiting foreign citizens.
Two thousand criminal cases were opened in the area of migration. In addition, law enforcement agencies located 301 individuals who were wanted.
According to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, during operational and preventive measures, special attention was paid to checking areas where foreign citizens reside compactly and where they work.
Inspections were carried out, in particular, in areas related to the transportation of passengers and the delivery of goods.
The first stage of the federal comprehensive operational and preventive operation "Illegal-2026" took place in Russia in June under the auspices of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs carried out the operation jointly with the Federal Security Service and Rosfinmonitoring.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the goal of the operation is to combat illegal migration and suppress the activities of international and interregional organized groups and criminal communities engaged in illegal activities in this area.
Another objective of the operation was to identify individuals wanted, including those wanted internationally.
