Preschool enrollment in Tajikistan, including early development centers and groups, has reached 30.8%. Currently, 317,973 children are enrolled in preschool education. This was announced by Tajikistan's Minister of Education and Science, Rahim Saidzoda, at a press conference summarizing the first half of 2026.
According to the agency, the number of children enrolled in preschool education increased by 66,220 compared to the same period last year. The enrollment rate increased by 7.1 percentage points.


To expand children's access to preschool education, 3,158 early childhood development centers operate within general education institutions across the country. They provide education and support to 183,710 children.
Compared to the same period in 2025, the number of early development centers increased by 227, and the number of children attending them increased by 50,349.
There are 5,732 teachers working in early childhood development centers and groups.



As noted by the Ministry of Education and Science, the development of preschool education remains a priority area of state education policy.
Tajikistan also adopted a Program for the Development of Preschool Education and Upbringing for 2026–2030. The document was approved by a government decree on March 3, 2026.
The program was developed in response to instructions from Tajik President Emomali Rahmon related to expanding the network of preschool institutions and increasing access to preschool education.
