Officers from the Ismoili Somoni District Department of Internal Affairs detained two men after investigating a video recording of the conflict posted on social media, according to the Dushanbe City Department of Internal Affairs.
According to the agency, a video recording featuring two young people engaged in a family dispute sparked widespread public outcry and negative reactions from social media users. Following the publication, police conducted an investigation.
As a result, Azizdzhon Zoirov, born in 1999, and Firuz Akhmedov, born in 1991, were arrested. Law enforcement authorities determined that on June 27 of this year, a conflict broke out between them on M. Tursunzoda Street, during which the men used obscene language and disturbed the peace.
Following the investigation, administrative offence reports were drawn up against both of them under Article 460 of the Code of the Republic of Tajikistan on Administrative Offences (“Petty Hooliganism”).
By court order, each of the violators was sentenced to administrative punishment in the form of arrest for a period of five days.
The Dushanbe Department of Internal Affairs called on citizens to resolve disputes exclusively within the legal framework by contacting competent law enforcement agencies, and to refrain from posting provocative videos and information on social media.
