On July 1, 2026, in Istanbul, Tajikistan's Minister of Health and Social Protection, Jamoliddin Abdullozoda, met with World Health Organization Regional Director for Europe, Hans-Henri Kluge. The meeting took place as part of the World Health Organization (WHO) Conference of Health Ministers, dedicated to strengthening sanitary and epidemiological security in the context of earthquake-related emergencies. The conference is taking place July 1–2 in Turkey, according to the press service of Tajikistan's Ministry of Health and Social Protection.
During the negotiations, Jamoliddin Abdullozoda, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, expressed gratitude to the leadership of the World Health Organization for its ongoing support of the country's healthcare and social protection sector.
The parties noted that the World Health Organization is one of Tajikistan's key and reliable partners in healthcare. They assessed that cooperation between the country and the organization is currently developing at a high level.
The Minister emphasized that Tajikistan fully supports the implementation of the Roadmap for Health and Well-being in Central Asia 2026–2030 (RHWCA 2.0), which is being implemented at the initiative of the World Health Organization.
According to him, within the framework of regional cooperation in Central Asia, this document is not only a strategic basis for development, but also a practical tool for implementing planned activities, as well as a platform for coordinating joint actions by states in the region.
Furthermore, Jamoliddin Abdullozoda expressed support for the World Health Organization's initiative to hold a Summer School on Patient Safety, which will take place in July of this year. He expressed hope that the event will become an effective platform for sharing best practices, enhancing the skills of specialists, and promoting a culture of patient safety in countries in the region.
In turn, the Director of the World Health Organization's Regional Office for Europe, Hans-Henri Kluge, positively assessed the organization's cooperation with the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of healthcare.
Following the meeting, the parties exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and confirmed their intention to continue expanding cooperation.
