Tajikistan's Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali, held a series of meetings in Vienna with the leadership of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), according to the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan.
On June 23, 2026, in the capital of Austria, the head of the ministry met with the Deputy Director-General and Executive Director of the Directorate for Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Industrial Development of UNIDO, Qiyong Zou.



During the talks, the parties discussed ongoing initiatives and issues of technical cooperation in industrial sectors, the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies, the digitalization of economic sectors, and other areas of interaction.
Speaking at the meeting, Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali noted that thanks to the support and constructive and innovative initiatives of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, the country has entered a new stage of development. He emphasized that industrial development, digitalization of economic sectors, artificial intelligence, and the green economy are the main areas of Tajikistan's economic development.
On the same day, the Minister also met with the Executive Director and Acting Director of UNIDO's Directorate for Innovation for Sustainable Development and Economic Exchange, Providence Mavubi.



During this meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further cooperation between Tajikistan and UNIDO in priority areas. The focus was on the digitalization of the country's free economic zones, attracting investment, and developing innovative entrepreneurship.
The talks focused on strengthening Tajikistan's cooperation with UNIDO on industrial development, the introduction of modern technologies, innovation, and sustainable economic growth.
