In Tajikistan, a man was awarded for saving a teenager who found himself in danger during heavy rain, the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs reported .
Earlier, a video circulated on social media showing a heavy downpour causing the water level in a ditch to rise significantly, with a teenager being swept away by the powerful current. Judging by the footage, the child's life was in danger, and there was a risk of death.
At that moment, a passerby came to the teenager's aid. Showing courage, responsibility, and compassion, the man dived into the water, pulled the minor from the raging current, and saved him.
The incident was fully recorded by a CCTV camera.
At the request of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the video recording was reviewed, after which law enforcement officers identified the teenager. He was a 12-year-old resident of the village of Oktok in the Rudaki district. It turned out the boy had fallen into the water while trying to retrieve his ball.
The rescuer's identity has also been established. He is Bakhtiyor Toshev, a resident of the Karatagin mahalla in the Shokhmansur district of Dushanbe.
For his courage, bravery and humanism, Bakhtiyor Toshev was awarded the medal “Daleri” (“For Courage”) and a commemorative gift.
The award was presented on behalf of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan, Police Colonel-General Ramazon Rahimzoda, by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Police Major-General Gayratsho Muborakshozoda.
