Tajikistan and the Republic of Korea have agreed to begin implementing a new project to develop an intelligent transport system in Dushanbe this year.
According to the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan, the agreement was reached following a meeting between Transport Minister Azim Ibrohim and the head of the Railway Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea, Kim Teben, and the head of the overseas projects department of the National Railway Corporation, Oh Byung-il.


During the talks, the parties discussed the implementation of investment projects in the road transport sector, the training of specialists for the railway and metro industries, and issues of improving the qualifications of railway sector employees.
Particular attention was paid to preparations for the "Central Asia + Korea" summit, which will take place in September 2026 in Seoul. Cooperation agreements in various areas are expected to be signed between the two countries at the event.
According to the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan, Tajikistan and the Republic of Korea are currently implementing four projects in the road transport sector.
