Khushnud Dushanbiev, representing Tajikistan, won the 15th International Young Reciters' Competition "Living Classics." The competition finals took place on June 7 as part of the book festival on Red Square in Moscow, according to the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan.
This season of the competition included representatives from all 89 regions of the Russian Federation, as well as schoolchildren from 65 countries. The top 12 participants advanced to the final round: six from Russia and six from other countries, including Tajikistan, Belarus, the United Arab Emirates, and Uzbekistan.
During the final performances, the participants presented works by renowned authors, including Yuri Yakovlev, Boris Vasiliev, Andrei Zhvalevsky, Mikhail Zoshchenko, and Maria Boteva.
Khushnud Dushanbiev, a representative of Tajikistan, performed an excerpt from Mikhail Zoshchenko's "Case History." His performance received high praise from the competition jury.
The winner's mentor, Russian language and literature teacher Galina Yuryevna Bauer, noted that the result was the result of extensive work, determination, perseverance, and a genuine love of literature. She also noted that Khushnud demonstrated a high level of responsibility and a constant desire to improve his skills.


The "Living Classics" competition is considered the largest Russian-language literary project in Russia and abroad. Its main goal is to develop children's and adolescents' interest in reading. More than one million schoolchildren participate in the competition annually.
The fifteenth season of the competition included several stages, from school and city levels to the final international final. The final stage brought together the strongest reciters from Russia and abroad.
According to the organizers, Khushnud Dushanbiyev outperformed more than 400 participants from various countries and was recognized as the best among the competition finalists.
The contestants' work was judged by theater and film professionals, as well as writers. The final performances took place in front of a large audience. Participants independently selected the works and excerpts to read, demonstrating a high level of performance skill.
The Living Classics Foundation has been operating for 15 years. During this time, more than 10 million schoolchildren from across the Russian Federation and 86 countries have participated in its projects.
